PackageTracer is considered by computer security researchers to be a potentially unwanted program (pup). PackageTracer was developed by Mindspark Interactive Inc., which you can find at www.Packagetracer.com/index.jhtml. Mindspark is a well-known software publisher whose name is often associated with toolbars that many people may find to be unnecessary in some cases. The PackageTracer Toolbar is one of the latest software products to come out of Mindspark's offices, which offers various features and functions that claim to add to your web browsing experience.
The purpose of the PackageTracer toolbar is to provide users with quick and convenient access to a neat package tracking feature. According to its authors, the toolbar is compatible with major delivery companies such as DHL, UPS, FedEx, and others. Users need to input the number of their package, and the toolbar will instantly search the delivery company's website to provide the user with the current location of their package. When installed, PackageTracer may change the browser new tab page, homepage, and start page to http://hp.myway.com. Overall, PackageTracer toolbar isn't a bad application, but its presence on your PC might introduce some unwanted system modifications. Those who don't feel the need to keep the PackageTracer application may remove it either through the Control Panel or by using an antimalware application.
